Every day I post at night…often much later than this post will be. It would be much better if I could get a post out in the early afternoon. At that time, I have lots of fresh ideas that both inspire me and I would like to share. Of course, time is of the essence then—with so many competing priorities. In the afternoon, life is too flurried to sit and write on the computer. But, by the end of the day, I am contemplating the occurrences of the day. The things that inspired me early on have been overcome by realities that need processing. And processing posts are not why I started a blog.

So, I apologize for this post. But my day has had too much in it to stick with my earlier inspirations. My son has a cold…a nasty, runny nose and pathetic watery eyes. And he feels generally miserable. Also, we have just (this late afternoon) been told that our dog, Godiva (pictured at the beach on the right), appears to have diabetes and Cushing’s disease…although the diabetes could be a by-product of the Cushings. This weekend, we should decide whether we want to make the financial commitment to treating her before we continue with the next-step diagnosis tests for the Cushings. The final diagnosis for Cushings will come to around $700 and if we aren’t ready to make the financial commitments ($1800 in the first year, just for Cushings), then we shouldn’t spend the money on the confirmation diagnosis. I suppose this makes sense, but it feels so wrong to make the life decisions for a vital being (not to mention one that is beloved in our family) based on financial concerns. So, you have a processing blog post…and my apologies. Good night readers.
